As a TracetecFleet client, you have complete control over your own Company page within the TracetecFleet website – you can access the data and information therein at any time, simply by logging on with your username and password.
You can also request Company-specific reports for your fleet. TracetecFleet has a range of commonly requested reports but we can tailor-make your data reports as you require.
TracetecFleet Data Storage and Management Process
- TracetecFleet uses GPS for pinpointing the exact location of your vehicles or assets and GPRS to transmit this information to our website. Location data is transmitted to the servers every 60 seconds, ensuring that the position can be seen in real-time. This unique integration of technologies makes TracetecFleet the ideal real time movement monitor. As your vehicles move, their position is continually marked. You can then create a visual route map, with our Google Earth map interface.
- In addition to the virtual route, useful data including temperature, altitude and speed is recorded alongside every marked position plotted on the map. Speed, latitude and longitude are displayed on the face of the GPS tracking device, and this information is continuously transmitted to the TracetecFleet servers.
- The routes travelled by each fleet vehicle can be displayed on a standard street map, an aerial satellite map or a hybrid of these two maps which you can manipulate with ease.
- All of your tracking data is mailed to you daily, for you to save for easy off-line reference. As all the data that you generate is held in perpetuity on the TracetecFleet server, you will always be able to access your data when you log onto your personal page.
- You can integrate your route data with Google Earth™, giving a sense of the surroundings passed through. All the standard Google functionality remains after a map-integration is performed: you can zoom in as close as you want – or as far away as you want; change the plane on which you view the route; remove or add layers of surrounding information and then save the route to a file.
- The TracetecFleet tracking device will constantly gather information when active, even if there is no GSM coverage. This data is stored, and once coverage is re-established, the current position of your vehicles is transmitted to the website. As the stored data is transmitted, the route will be filled in behind the current position, even as the vehicles move along, generating more route information.
Communication Functionality – Communicate with Your Drivers Using the GPS Device
-
TracetecFleet’s integrated GSM technology allows calls and text messages to be sent directly to the vehicle tracking device. You can call the device from any phone or send text messages from a cell phone or from the website.
- Communicate with the TracetecFleet gps device by simply using the message bar on the mapping page. All messages sent from the website are saved. In order to do this, the observer needs to have access to the user’s password-protected page, or would have received a ‘Tell-A-Friend’ email from the user.
- Simple text messages with Yes / No answers can be responded to by the user, using the buttons on the gps device.
- The TracetecFleet user can be called at any time and will be alerted to the call by the screen lighting up and a tone. The screen prompts the user to answer or decline the call. If the user is wearing an audio headset, then a normal conversation can take place between the two parties.
- The TracetecFleet will auto-answer incoming calls when it is in E-Mode.
TracetecFleet Emergency E-Mode*
* Requires optional E-Mode button to be inserted into the dashboard.
- TracetecFleet assures your personal security with E-Mode. When setting up your personal details, you are required to designate an emergency contact. When you activate the E-Mode, an emergency SMS / email is sent to your chosen contact.
- In the event of an emergency, if the vehicle is not in GSM coverage, the emergency notification is re-sent every 16 seconds until it is acknowledged. At the same time, the device attempts to send a position immediately.
- If an incident or accident happens outside of GSM coverage, your rescuers will know your last position, based on the last transmission.
- When the unit is in E-Mode the display will show E-Mode on the screen, and the unit will auto-answer incoming phone calls.
- TracetecFleet’s live data pinpoints your vehicle’s location, even if the driver is lost. Because the unit is always transmitting information about its whereabouts, the vehicle’s location is always known – even if the driver doesn’t know where they are. You can find the vehicle on the mapping system and direct your driver to where they need to be. At the same time, the status of the TracetecFleet tracking device is recorded, so you can see if the vehicle is stationary or moving – and their speed if the vehicle is in motion.
- You can use your TracetecFleet anywhere in the world provided that data roaming has been enabled. An email to the technicians at Tracefleet, detailing your roaming area, will result in the activation of data roaming.
- Providing that there is GSM coverage, your position can be viewed on any computer and on any java-enabled mobile device.
- *Engineers at TracetecFleet are investigating ways to take advantage of the additional functionality that Symbian phones offer.
- TracetecFleet offers full webpage support, with a prompt response turn-around time. Email us or phone us with your query or the difficulty that you are encountering with your unit or our website.
